Batavia, NY  -  Remarkable and sensational are the best two words to describe the performances of new track record holders Tuesdays With Mom and Munis Blue Chip, who both trotted to victory, in 1:57.3, in New York Sire Stakes action on Friday night, September 10, at Batavia Downs Casino.

New York Sire Stakes Racing to Begin on June 6

Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund Executive Director Peter Goold today announced the New York State Sire Stakes purses for the 2010 season. The total purses for 2010 are expected to be $19 million; this is $3 million higher than previously expected due to increased revenues from the video gaming machines at New York State harness tracks. 

The first race of the season is on June 6 with three-year-old filly pace races at Buffalo Raceway.

NYSS 2009 Awards Banquet Held

The Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund (the Fund) Executive Director Peter Goold today announced the Fund held its Annual New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) Awards Banquet on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Vernon Downs in Vernon, New York.  A total of 29 awards were given to horse owners, drivers, and trainers who performed exceptionally well during the 2009 NYSS racing season.
